Dynacraft, a PACCAR Company, will host a private grand opening event Oct. 31 to celebrate the start of production in a new 184,000-square-foot facility in McKinney, Texas. Under a development agreement with the McKinney Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), Dynacraft will bring 200 jobs to the community over the next six years and make capital investments of $31 million.
Sustainable design is a highlight of the new 82-acre Dynacraft McKinney plant. During construction, no soil was removed from or added to the site and over 40 trees were preserved. Skylights and windows provide natural daylight in the production zone, and passive light levels are controlled by a system that automatically brightens or dims LED fixtures throughout the facility. The building saves energy through a heat-reflecting roof and insulating glass windows, resulting in energy savings of 949,000 kilowatts annually.
“McKinney is proud to welcome PACCAR to our growing family of companies devoted to community and success. I greatly admire their commitment to sustainability and dedication to preserving the environment. We know they are a strong fit for McKinney,” said Mayor George Fuller.
“The City of McKinney is an exceptional fit for our new Dynacraft Texas facility,” said Marco Davila, PACCAR Vice President, “We thank both the community and its leadership for the partnership and support. We look forward to decades of growth in McKinney.”
“As we promised over a year ago, McKinney would foster an economic environment where Dynacraft’s presence in our city will grow well beyond its considerable initial investment. Indeed, PACCAR’s current investment in McKinney is already greater than what was required and we look forward to working together to maximize PACCAR’s continued investment in McKinney in the years to come,” said MEDC Board Chairman Jason Burress.
