The McKinney Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) has selected Hunt Southwest for the development of a speculative light industrial development project within the city.
MEDC circulated a Request for Proposals in April and received five responses in June. Following an evaluation of the five responses, four finalists were invited to present their proposals at a special MEDC Board meeting July 24. The MEDC Board authorized President Darrell Auterson to initiate negotiations with Hunt Southwest for the sale and development of MEDC owned land in the University Business Park.
“Initiating this speculative light industrial development project in McKinney supports the competitiveness strategies outlined in our five year strategic plan,” said Auterson. “We were extremely impressed with the caliber of development proposals received and while selecting one firm was no easy task, we believe this first project is only the beginning for what we believe will be some significant industrial product development for our future.”
