The City of McKinney and the McKinney Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) provide incentives to qualifying businesses wanting to develop a business presence at the McKinney National Airport.
The MEDC determines the amount of the incentive based on several factors:
Business personal property (aircraft) brought to McKinney
Number of jobs / annual payroll either new or relocated to McKinney
Taxable amount of new real property improvement (hangars / office)
The sustainability of a project can also influence the amount of the incentive. Funds can be used for infrastructure, relocation, training and other business necessities.
The McKinney National Airport is focused on a regional approach to encourage economic development within the area. In addition to the above, a regional financial incentive initiative agreement has been created by the McKinney Airport Development Corporation (MADC) and the City of McKinney to attract business prospects of all Collin County jurisdictions to base aircraft at the airport.
